Jorja Moes

Hello! My name is Jorja, and I come from a small coastal city 70 miles north of Los Angeles. Ventura, the place that I call home, is one of Southern California’s best kept secrets. Because of this place, I spent much of my childhood in close connection with the nature around me. It wasn’t until my young adult life, that I realized the treasure of such a relationship with mother nature and the many lessons I continue to learn from her, such as how to bask in life’s simple pleasures.

What began as an admiration for the beauty of my home, the smell of the citrus orchards near my house and the sunsets beyond the Channel Islands, quickly ignited into a passion for capturing the splendor of the world around me. It is these simple moments I seek to ‘bottle’: not those that have been curated or arrive out of intention, but the ones that are so intrinsic to our lives, they often go unnoticed. Over time, I’ve become enchanted by the power this expression of creativity has to offer newfound perspective and completely transform one’s reality.

As a young adult and a Communications & Film, Television, and Media Studies student at the University of California Los Angeles, I continue to pursue mediums of art - film, photography, design - that allow me to further explore this love for aesthetics.
